I thought I would Ask

I thought I would ask all ye parents out there what you thought of this http://www.housefairy.org/index.php website. Do you think that the house fairy would be worth $13?

That lady in the video on the kids tab, I think would scare the kids more than help them. I guess, though, if it does help them to keep there rooms clean, then it would be worth even more than $13.

I had something like this given to me for mother's day and I just didn't get around to making 3 more of them or reading the book or anything so I gave it to another mommy who wanted it. I find that my system of punishment and rewards works fine for me. I got the gist of the program that I might use with Mary. She needs extra help doing her chores.

Mary has chores? What do you have her do? i have been trying to come up with some chores for Theron, but I can't think of anything he is truly capable of. For now he just helps the big kids with their chores, when he feels like it...
Biffy, I looked at the house fairy thing, seems like I've read about it before, and I think it might work for Abby, but would never work for my jaded crazies. But I also think that you are educated enough in child-development and creative enough to come up with your own get-her-to-clean scheme. Cheapskate that I am, I would try my own thing first.

Abby is an EXPERT wash cloth folder. Grandma taught her and she is really really good at folding. You might give it a shot with theron.

lol I showed the demo to Branden and he was totally mesmorized. He asked if we could join lol. I think he really likes things neat, just lacks the motivation and drive....and I lack the motivation and drive to help him right now. lol Emelyn on the other hand walked over, asked what we were watching, and I said "the cleaning fairy", and she said, "you mean the granny fairy???" and walked away. She was not impressed lol. I also say if it worked, then I would pay MORE than 13 lol. But am not sure it's worth the risk for me personally lol. I think I could come up with things - and have -just have hit a rough spot for a minute.

Mary empties the dishwasher, puts her clothes away, puts clothes in the washer and/or dryer, cleans up toys, throws away trash, puts dishes in the sink, does her homework, and shovels the sidewalk when there's snow. Ok, the last one she has to have help with but all of it has to be heavily supervised to keep her on task.
